Financial gifts to the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society support our programs and are gratefully accepted. Thank you for considering a donation!

    More Ways to Donate

    Become a “Book Angel”

Book Angels help us fill our library shelves by donating towards the purchase of new books to help further and guide genealogical quests.

Pick from the pre-selected books to earn your halo.

    Buy A Brick

A great way to help the SBCGS and the Sahyun Genealogical Library is our “Buy a Brick” program. Have a brick inscribed with the name of an ancestor or family member and support our Endowment Fund.

    Give While You Shop

Whether online or in person, these three programs allow you to name SBCGS as a nonprofit to receive donations based on your spending. It costs you nothing and doesn’t increase the price of your purchases. Set it – and forget it – and we gratefully receive the proceeds.

    Donate Genealogical Materials

Books, periodicals, and vital records are among the genealogical materials that the Society accepts for donation. Find out what materials we can – and cannot take.

Quick tip: keep your original family history documents and photographs with your family.

    Estate Planning & More

As a volunteer nonprofit organization, we welcome other gifts of all kinds. That includes bequests and planned gifts (securities, real estate, trusts, insurance policies, etc.), donations to the Endowment – even equipment.

Give the Gift of Time – Volunteer

As an all-volunteer organization, the Society relies on the generosity of volunteer genealogy lovers to donate their time and expertise. Volunteers ensure the Library is open, genealogical records are preserved, the property is maintained, our website is updated, and much more. Find out how you can help!
